Look at the beautiful winter wonder land!!

There are many times I have complained about the treacherous South Dakota winters, but there is no beauty like fresh snow! It makes the long cold winter a little brighter, that morning cup of coffee feel a little warmer, and brings a giant smile to my little mans face. There is nothing like a good old-fashioned snow day. Where you get up and put a fresh pair of pajamas on, grab those fuzzy rainbow socks in the bottom of my drawer, and sip a cup of hot coffee, LOVE it! We have been so blessed to have a couple of snow days already. As every old fella I visit at work says, “the farmers will be happy,” so is this girl! Ps…The above photos are from our backyard, yes those would be our little turkey “friends”. They are little trouble makers sometimes, someday I will tell you my turkey stories.

Just Keep Swimming……Water Proof Camera!

Christmas season is here in full swing! Anyone else struggling to find gifts for the ones they love. Everyone I know seems to have everything they need, and I hate getting something just to get something. My husband on the other hand is the best gift giver ever!! He always seems to surprise me with these meaningful, useful gifts I never would have thought up myself. One of the best gifts he has ever given me is this shock and water proof camera, for those parents we call this child proof!

We have had tons of fun with this camera because I can take it anywhere. I also use a Nikon D5000, but its large and in charge. I like to have my hands free and when I have the big boy I feel weighted down by my camera. Here are some of our summer pictures taken on this orange machine of wonder!

It is even good with action shots…some of those point and shoots miss the Kodak moment. This was his first time going off a diving board! I let him jump off the side even as the lifeguard whistled at us….A wise man once said, “rules are for people with no common sense.” oops 😉

Our very first underwater pic….It was cute all the kids at the local pool kept nicely letting me know my camera was getting wet. I can’t wait to bring this one in the ocean!!

John Deer Birthday

 My best friend is super creative! She is always great about throwing a party together, and coming up with great activities for the kiddos. This year was John Deer themed!

 Activities:

Top: We filled balloons with toys and candy (two person task btw!) then blew them up. The kiddos got to pop them with a BBQ stick. Great substitute for a pinata

Middle: She got these great foam “hats” and farm stickers. All the kiddos decorated their own hat.

Bottom: She made a John Deer tractor and the kiddos played pin the wheel on the tractor

Say Cheese!

It was a sad day in my house when picnic shut it’s basket! I loved how user friendly it was, not to mention it was budget friendly. I had the upgraded package which was about $25 per year. After the funeral my beautiful camera hung in the closet. I  purchased a Nikon D 5000 about 3 years ago, but have yet to venture out of the auto feature (It is on my to do list). Picnic allowed me to take my below average pictures and bump them up a few notches……. Okay ladies and gents, wipe those tears, we have a solution!

My experience so far…..This is Picnic’s little brother and he rocks my socks off! The best part is …it is FREE! I am sure as popularity flares up there will be some kind of charge. If you liked picnic you will love this, because it is essentially the same thing. There are a few minor changes, such as you have to upload one picture at a time, there is no logg in, and it has little to no lag time.
