Coming Back

Oh how I have missed this blog world.

All I can say is life is a crazy Adventure. It has been over a year since my last post and has happened and evolved!

We have had some fantastic ups!

Our family of three has really found our groove. Our little boy is growing like crazy and turning into this charming, funny, witty, and caring young MAN. Who BTW will be taller than his mom before we know it!

That big job switch I spoke about here has really been a life changer. I love being part of a growing and evolving company. The role gives me the ability to utilize my nursing knowledge, while continuing to collaborate with Providers, Nurses, and Administrators. Not to mention we play just as hard as we work!

God has also given us a few challenges.

We have been trying to conceive for two and a half years. Anyone that has traveled this road knows it can slowly swallow your life. There is just nothing like pouring some hormones on an emotional fire to get things burning. This experience has grown my faith and my marriage exponentially. We may never have a baby, but we already have an amazing family. I have finally come to a place of peace. I know God has something beautiful planned for us regardless. It took me some time to let go and understand it may not be what we want, the way we want it, but it WILL be beautiful.

“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a Future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Now Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

On that note I cannot wait to get back to sharing my adventures with you all again!

Announcement!!!!

I have put this post off, because I didn’t necessarily know where to start…

Black Hills/ new adventure

This was a HUGE decision I weighed heavily,  involved so many prayers, most ending with question marks.

Early this summer I head about an awesome, unique career opportunity ….It is entirely different!!! The kind that deviates your path from all of what you previously expected. The more I stalked their website and asked around about them, the more I was intrigued and interested in this company. As one would expect from this post title I clearly interviewed, chewed my nails off  waited, and prayed for guidance. In the end I was presented with an excellent opportunity and graciously accepted the position.

Which meant I had to leave what I have come to feel comfortable with, eek … Leave all the women that have become a second family. Leave the place that became my work “home”. I have developed soooo much personally, professionally, and faithfully while being a part of this team. Not to mention, leave a path I have invested so much time and money into. Somehow in all of those fears I found peace with my decision, and that is when I knew I made the right decision, I concluded it must be a God thing.

So, what is this fantastic opportunity you ask?

I am going to join a EMR (electronic medical record) company as part of their implementation team. Enter jaw dropping response here

So you aren’t going to be a Nurse anymore?……(the first questions nearly everyone asks!)

Yes, I will always be a nurse, I am a nurse at heart. It is a field I am so passionate about, but I will be doing it from a different perspective. This is actually considered a nursing specialty known as, nursing informatics. Instead of providing hands on care and education directly to a patient, I will be providing education and encouragement to the clinicians, assisting in configuring software for each specific clinic,  and at times share my perspective as a Nurse. It is for a company I have literally heard nothing but good news about. They have become known in our community as having a awesome, unique working environment, with TONS of opportunity for growth. So there you have it, my big life changing adventure! I start Monday, and I am very excited!

Did I mention I can wear open toed shoes, Good bye OSHA regulations 😉

God Bless,

Cassie

The Best of 2012

2012

We had a beautiful year full of great adventures. I cherish all of the memories we have made! I got the chance to my hubby with a weekend away for his birthday. Our little boy has been the light of our year he has worked so hard, all with that gorgeous smile on his face, and a laugh in his pocket. We each tried new things. Our super hero played flag football for his first season , graduated to the front seat, and even took his mama to his first school dance (okay he kind of had to, but let me pretend while I can).  My husband has braved the waters of parenthood like a rock star, and living with a lady. He has learned to tolerate love the clutter of a house full of love, makeup, and clothes. I finished a degree (hallelujah) and adventures of living was born! Of course the highlight of the year was walking down the aisle to marry my best friend, and complete our family! The next best thing to marrying my best friend was going on a honeymoon with him 😉

Winter Bucket List

winter1

Look at the beautiful winter wonder land!!

There are many times I have complained about the treacherous South Dakota winters, but there is no beauty like fresh snow! It makes the long cold winter a little brighter, that morning cup of coffee feel a little warmer, and brings a giant smile to my little mans face. There is nothing like a good old-fashioned snow day. Where you get up and put a fresh pair of pajamas on, grab those fuzzy rainbow socks in the bottom of my drawer, and sip a cup of hot coffee, LOVE it! We have been so blessed to have a couple of snow days already. As every old fella I visit at work says, “the farmers will be happy,” so is this girl! Ps…The above photos are from our backyard, yes those would be our little turkey “friends”. They are little trouble makers sometimes, someday I will tell you my turkey stories.

Winter Bucket List:

1. Hot chocolate bar party

2. Sledding

3. Make a snowman

4. Themed movie marathon

5. Winter photo shoot

6. Girls day-o-crafts

7. Organize our home

8. Start a work out routine

9. Eat healthier (this was healthy, like how I changed that to leave room for weakness?)

10. BLOG!!! 🙂

What is on your winter bucket list; Skiing, snowboarding, Naked Snow angels?

just kidding 😉

God Bless,

Cassie

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

A few weeks ago I ran to the store for our christmas essentials ie cidar, and ventures into the basement for our christmas decor extraveganza. Call me crazy, but I actually love our fake tree. The real ones are messy, and my super hero loves putting our fake one together. I throw some scented pine cones in it and bam holiday cheer from a box.

Now our tree would never make the cover of a magazine. It is full of hand me downs, and handmade ornaments. Someday I will maybe do two and have one of those magazine cover trees as I mentioned here. I even went to the store this year and purchased some of my own holiday decor here. Anywho. One of my favorite coworkers brought it to my attention that she has been stalking my blog waiting to see my christmas tree. She has very high hopes for this tree BTW.DSC_0447

Here are the “kids” helping. It is a full on event in our house. I think my poor husband was overwhelmed, as this was his first full Cassie Christmas decorating experience. We crank the christmas music, boil cidar, and cheerfully sing with the tunes, completely off key! The princess was clearly worried, she burried herself in the pillows on the couch, and continuously gave me this, “what the H are you doing to our house” look.
